The human language is a vital part of our world. Good communication is vital in order to illuminate the true worth of the information being shared!
Dr. Michael Niemann (PhD in InfoTech, Monash) is a computational linguist and information scientist investigating various aspects of human communication. He is particularly interested in how social media is used within the community to communicate and how this can be used in research. This involves looking at how we communicate and share knowledge online and analysing it through natural language processing.
He is a lecturer at the Faculty of IT, Monash University, primarily teaching data science and data management.
His former role at Swinburne University and Deakin University as a Data Analysis Tools Developer (DATD) within the Tracking Infrastructure for Social Media Analysis (TrISMA) was to assist academics from all fields (but especially the humanities) include analysis of Australian social media usage in their research.
